Celtic Heritage in Gatlinburg, Tennessee Review

Amy Brantley
During a recent trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, my boyfriend and I spotted a shop called Celtic Heritage. Being part Irish, I was immediately interested, though I was skeptical. After all, Gatlinburg isn't exactly known for their amazing deals. I expected the prices to scare me. I must say that after entering the store and looking around, I was quite surprised. Celtic Heritage is definitely worth stopping if you have Celtic blood or wish you did.

Upon entering Celtic Heritage, I immediately noticed that the store carries food from Ireland and Scotland. I love to try new foods and would have grabbed a few items to try except that I didn't want to tote them around all day. Further down the aisle, the store carried beautiful silver bookmarks that were less than $11. I found myself immediately falling in love with the store. The prices were reasonable and there were so many different items.

I found myself wanting one of their pewter pendant necklaces that cost less than $20. Unfortunately, they were sold out of the designs I liked. I continued to browse the store. Celtic Heritage really does have almost everything that you think of when you think of Scotland and Ireland. The store even carries kilts and wool capes. Of course, what would a Celtic store be without barware? Celtic Heritage carries a nice variety of steins, flasks and wine glasses. All of which feature beautiful Celtic designs.

One of the biggest items the store carries is their jewelry collection. Whether you're looking for earrings, pendants, rings or kilt pins, Celtic Heritage has a large selection and the prices are fairly reasonable. For example, you can purchase a gorgeous heart knot ring for less than $40. If you do want something more extravagant, the store has that as well. You can purchase a 10K gold band that features the Gaelic saying, gra go deo, which translates to love forever. There are male and female bands, which makes this a unique wedding band idea. The female version costs around $450, while the male band is around $550.

I highly recommend Celtic Heritage. It's not a cheesy little store for tourists. The store carries beautiful items for every budget. I give this store 4 out of 5 stars. The only problem I had with this store is that the staff weren't the least bit friendly. In fact, they didn't even greet us or say anything during our time in the store. Otherwise, I recommend visiting the store or at the very least visiting the website.
