Lancaster, OH 43130
United States of America
Lancaster doesn't stand out for anything unique or remarkable. However this small city is not only a great place to visit, but also a great place to live and work. Many people are drawn to Lancaster because of its close proximity to Columbus. In Lancaster you are close enough to the city to maintain a fantastic career, but you can also indulge yourself in a story book type town, where people are friendly, crime is low, and the country side is not far away.
If you are visiting Fairfield County, you might be prepared for a boring stay. It doesn't seem as if there are many recreational opportunities awaiting you in this area. This is the total opposite of the truth. Lancaster Ohio is home to many fantastic parks, shops and museums.
If you enjoy fishing, walking, and ducks you should first visit Cenci Lake. It is convenient to US Highway 33, and this in town lake is rather nice. The trail around Cenci Lake is paved and many residents of the city of Lancaster enjoy roller blading, biking and jogging around the lake. You should take duck food or at least a loaf of bread along with you. The ducks and geese that call Cenci Lake home have been spoiled by the animal lovers of Fairfield County, and they expect to be fed. The ducks are somewhat friendly, and you might be surprised by the vast amount of ducks that can be found on Cenci Lake. A shelter house and picnic area are available for your enjoyment, as are restrooms. Fishing is permitted, and apparently this is a good spot for casting out your line, as there is always someone fishing on the lake. I personally love the beautiful Mulberry trees at Cenci Lake. A walk around this simple lake is not only scenic but also fun, and relaxing. This is a lovely place to spend a few hours relaxing, walking or feeding ducks. Please be advised that swimming and ice skating are not permitted at any time at Cenci Lake in Lancaster Ohio. Please check back with me for more information on Lancaster Ohio.

Post a CommentLancaster is my birth place. I moved to Hawaii to get away from the crime of this town. However Lancaster is a historical city. General Shermans house is available to tour or take a walk up Mount Pleasant. Native Americans used this as a look out for intruders.
My husband and I are natives of Lancaster, and recently moved back here in Nov. of 08. We visited a favorite spot today with our dear daughter, "Cenci Lake". What a beautiful place it has become. Use to be overgrown with weeds and the like around the lake and now is home to a beautiful place to relax, walk, jog, adjacent to the city bike path that we hope to make part of our days as well. Anyone looking for a day of relaxation, picnicing, fishing or a stroll in the park, should definitely come to Cenci Lake. Thanks to all that have conserved and beautified this little place :)
