Frank J. Kuni is a registered sex offender. Some headlines say he "Posed" as a census worker. He was actually a hired census worker. He lied about his name. They took his fingerprints, but sent him out to work before they came back. Frank J. Kuni was hired and finished four days of training April 30, and was terminated May 5. Kuni had visited more than one Pennsauken home, police said. That means for five days, he was not posing as a census worker, he had true credentials and was indeed a census worker. His fingerprint check came back on May 5th as flagged. One day after his visit to the smart and quick witted New Jersey mother.
The Census officials answer to this? I quote:"When you are looking at 600,000 people going through this check, you can understand that it doesn't always work the way it should,". Well, I wonder if the same thing would have been said if a person was raped or worse. To me, that is kind of like saying "oops, we tried!"
One New Jersey mother trusted that gut instinct that something wasn't right. There's a reason that gut instinct kicked in. She is pro-active in keeping her family safe by scanning the TRUE Megan's Law Website (the one linked here is for PA, NJ is listed under resources) and in the back of her mind, the recognition kicked in. She saw Frank J. Kuni on the list. Not too long ago I did an article about the Megan's law website, and a similar website that actually emails you every time an offender moves in, starts working or moves out of your area. I cannot impress enough how important it is to scan the faces on the sex offenders list, and this definitely proves it.
Here's something to really think about. This wise woman and mother stated that she never answers the door when she is home alone with her toddler son. She felt that since it was a government worker, it would be OK. What a sad state we live in when we feel we can't ever open the door unless someone else is home, but she sure was right, wasn't she? What about single mothers? Are we to cringe and pretend no one is home every time the door bell rings?
Please, be pro-active. Keep yourself and your loved ones safe. There are so many other violent criminals whose crimes do not get them listed on a website. Please take advantage of this one heads up we get-The Megan's Law Website. Again, please beware of sites acting as true sex offender list. The real site set up beause of this law is free and never asks you for any information about yourself or to register.

Megan's Law Protecting Oklahoma ChildrenI am glad that there are laws like Megan's Law that helps to protect out children. It only saddens me that a child had to be raped and murdered before such a law was created. - We Can Protect Ourselves from the Pedophile Across the Street Through Megan's LawBefore 1996, a pedophile could move in next door to you and you would be unaware. Thanks to Megan's law, that has all changed.

Update- I had forgot to send in my own census, even after this article. When The man came to the door he saw the look on my face and I apologized, he said he gets it all the time no problem, then whenI went on to tell him about the incident bothering me, he explained they re no longer allowed to go into any homes, so they have fixed potential disasters. ven better would be if they waited for all background checks to come back befre they allow them to work. A step they probably have now taken. I appreciate your sharing your opinion Vincent, and I understand where you are coming from. Before people were put on there that truly didn't belong there. Now though, the Sex offender list far from blown out of proportion. There are certain requirements you have to meet to have to register now, not like before. the men and women on the megan's law website are either child molesters or extremely violent offenders or repeat offenders of rape and aggrevated assault.
Scary, we live on a farm, and I don't like strangers coming to my door. We have a big German Shepherd just for that reason. The census can be taken through the mail, phone, or Internet.
You know -- I'm glad they have the sex-offender listing, but in all honesty, sometimes it is blown out of proportion. Way out of proportion. And the census bureau has really done a phenomenally difficult job very well.
Great article! This is invaluable information, thanks!
I heard about this on the news. Scary stuff.
This is an incident worth reporting. Thank you.
Answer the questions through a closed door!
Interesting story, but sadly goes to show that we really can't trust anyone.
Very interesting information. I added you to my friends and follow you to read more of what you write.
