Center (C) Sleepers - Top 3
Ed Davis - Tor - pf/c
As Toronto's 1st round draft pick last season, Davis showed loads of potential during the second half of the season last year. Even with no guaranteed starting spot for Davis to begin the 2011-2012 season, he should see 25-30 minutes per game while playing both the center and power forward positions. Offering excellent rebounding ability to go along with solid shot blocking and a high field goal shooting percentage, Davis could become an extremely valuable center commodity in fantasy basketball leagues this season.
2010-2011 Stats: 57.6 fg% -- 7.7 ppg -- 0.0 3pt -- 7.1 reb -- 0.6 ast -- 0.6 stl -- 1.0 blk
2011-2012 Projected Stats: 53 fg% -- 10 ppg -- 0.0 3pt -- 9.0 reb -- 1.0 ast -- 0.8 stl -- 1.0 blk
DeJuan Blair - SA - pf/c
If you want a rebounder, Blair can definitely be your guy. After starting the season as the Spurs starting center, Blair lost his mojo during the second half of the season and eventually moved to a reserve roll. However with the Spurs in need of a center who can rebound to begin the 2011-2012 season, there is plenty of reason to believe that Blair can once again claim the starting center job in San Antonio this season. With that in mind, as a late round draft pick in fantasy basketball leagues, Blair offers 8-10 rebounds and 8-10 points scored per game potential, while also adding 1 steal per game and excellent field goal percentage at or above 50%.
2010-2011 Stats: 50.1 fg% -- 8.3 ppg -- 0.0 3pt -- 7.0 reb -- 1.0 ast -- 1.2 stl -- 0.5 blk
2011-2012 Projected Stats: 53 fg% -- 8 ppg -- 0.0 3pt -- 9.0 reb -- 1.0 ast -- 1.0 stl -- 0.5 blk
Kendrick Perkins - OKC - c
When you consider that Perkins is entering his 10th season in the NBA this year, and yet he just turned 27 years old in November, you have to take Perkins for what he is. Solid but not great. Yet when you look at Perkins' career stats over the last few years, there is plenty of reason to believe that he can be an 8 point, 8 rebound, and 1 block per game contributor in fantasy basketball lineups this season. Often ranked in in the late 30s among fellow fantasy basketball center eligible payers, Perkins is an excellent sleeper pickup late in your draft.
2010-2011 Stats: 51.5 fg% -- 6.0 ppg -- 0.0 3pt -- 8.0 reb -- 0.9 ast -- 0.3 stl -- 0.9 blk
2011-2012 Projected Stats: 53 fg% -- 8.0 ppg -- 0.0 3pt -- 8.0 reb -- 1.0 ast -- 0.2 stl -- 1.0 blk
