One of these concepts can easily be used for outdoor or rustic themed weddings. This centerpiece consists of mirror tiles with candles place on top of them and medium sized river rocks spread down the tables. The materials necessary to create these wonderful and nontraditional centerpieces are square mirror tiles, three to four candles of various sizes to place on to of each mirror tile, plastic table clothes in the theme colors of the wedding, twenty to thirty river rocks per table (depends on the length and size of the tables), ribbon in the theme colors of the wedding, hot glue gun, hot glue sticks, a candle lighter stick, and packaging tape.
The assembly of these centerpieces is very simple and can be accomplished in a short amount of time. First, the wicks on all of the candles that will be placed on the tiles at the wedding reception need to be trimmed so that they are less than half an inch long. This will keep the candles from smoking when they start to burn and will also keep the height of the flames at a safe level. Next, the ribbon can be tied and glued in a variety of ways around the candles to help bring the color theme of the wedding into the décor of the reception. Once at the reception hall or the outdoor reception site the table cloths should be spread over the tables. If the reception is held outside the packaging tape should be placed under the table cloths so that they do not get caught by the wind. Finally the mirror tiles can be placed on the tables, the candles can be placed on top of the mirrors, they can be lighted just prior to the start of the reception and the river rock can be spread around the table.
