Centipede or Caterpillar Cake

Step by Step - EASY

Happy Birthday Centipede

For my youngest son's first birthday we were having quite a crowd with lots of kids, so instead of making a sheet cake I decided to bake cupcakes that ended up forming into a centipede. This was SO easy and makes perfect individual servings!

Materials:

Cup cake pans
1 cake mix and supporting ingredients
2 tubs of ready to use vanilla icing
Shredded Coconut (optional)
Food Coloring for icing and coconut (optional)
'Nilla Wafers for feet
M&Ms for face
Pretzel sticks for antennae

How to:

1. Prepare cake mixes as on box.
2. Do not put paper in cupcake pans as the cake may adhere and make it hard to peel off
3. Remove cakes from pans and let cool.
4. Ice each cupcake all the way around
5. Roll in colored coconut (optional)
6. Arrange cupcakes on long pan or on wax paper in the middle of a table.
7. Arrange 'Nilla Wafer feet under each cupcake
8. Decorate a cute face with icing, M&Ms, and pretzels.

To color coconut, place shredded coconut in plastic zip bag with a few drops of food color and gently knead until color is evenly distributed. Try using a rainbow if you'd like. Use left over coconut as grass for decoration.
