Our Personal Experience at Central Park
After moving to Cumming, Georgia just three months ago, my husband and I were delighted to find Central Park just a few miles from our home. One visit to this remarkable facility was enough to impress us. We quickly and happily paid the $60 per year, per person to obtain a membership allowing us to use their fitness center. Our membership is the Seniors' Discount, but regular price is still very reasonable at $75 per person, per year. That is much less costly than most gym memberships and Central Park has the same quality equipment you will find in most other fitness centers and gyms. We especially enjoy the treadmills, exercise bikes and ellipticals, which allows us to get excellent cardiovascular exercise without regard to the outdoor elements or trying to avoid vehicles along the roadway. We feel much more comfortable and safer exercising indoors at the fitness center. One nice thing we noticed about walking on the treadmills is that we can view the basketball courts in the gym just below us. This helps prevent boredom while we walk and makes the time on the treadmill pass much more quickly. The facility is monitored at all times and has sign in at the front desk. Members are issued an ID badge which must be worn at all times while in the facility as well.
Safety First
First and foremost, Central Park is clean and safe. There is a Forsyth County Sheriff's Office located just inside the park, when lends an extra sense of security to all the people who enjoy the park on a daily basis. Today most of us are concerned about safety in our city parks, especially those with small children. Central Park is divided into sections and has an area especially for young children, which makes it much easier for moms to supervise their little ones during playtime at the park.
Variety of Activities
According to the Forsyth County Department of Parks and Recreation, Central Park has "5-Youth Baseball/Softball Fields, 4-Adult Softball Fields, 3-Soccer Fields, 8-Tennis Courts, 27-Hole Disc Golf Course, Playground, Picnic Pavilion, Mountain Bike Trail & Recreation Center. The Recreation Center includes 2-Gymnasiums, Fitness Area, Mezzanine Walking Area, Arts & Crafts Room, Dance Room, Community/Meeting Rooms with a small Kitchen".
There truly is something for everyone at Central Park in Cumming, Georgia.
