Most healthcare organizations will train you and hire you has a Certified Nursing Assistant. By obtaining CNA training you can open other doors in your professional career. This is a good way to get started learning about nursing and you can go to nursing school as well while working as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Certified Nursing Assistant classes will teach you about patient care and helping patients have a high quality of care while you're working. While you're finding a great Certified Nursing Assistant programs see if they offer career placement or allow you to do an internship that is hands on training. Most CNA classes will teach you about distribution of medicines, taking blood pressure, registering patients and helping patients with everyday life skills.

Being a Certified Nursing Assistant is an entry level job and should be treated as such while you gain valuable nursing skills that you can either get your LPN or go to college to pursue a RN degree. Starting salary for a Certified Nursing Assistant can range anywhere from minimum wage up to $12 or more an hour depending where you work.

If you're deciding to become a Certified Nursing Assistant I would recommend going to a local community college to obtain a certificate because the community collage CNA classes will usually offer college credit where you can transfer when you decide to get a LPN or RN degree.

Certified Nursing Assistant do the jobs or tasks that RN don't want to do so be prepared to accept some not so glamorous work such as cleaning patients, changing their bedding and other jobs of similar nature. Remember, being a Certified Nursing Assistant is your temporary goal where you'll go on and further your education as a LPN or RN.

CNA training will teach you valuable skills that you can apply in your personal and professional life. Don't assume you know everything about being a Certified Nursing Assistant because while you're going through a Certified Nursing Assistant program you'll learn about other tasks and how your job is important in making patients comfortable while they're in you care.

Once you complete your CNA training and find employment be eager and hard working and mentor with a LPN or RN so you can learn more about those professions as well. Ask them to give you more duties so you can sharpen your skill set and it will help once you decide to further your education.
