Intriguing architectural elements set Cha-Bones apart from other Lake Havasu City restaurants. The interior includes intricate stone work, a forty foot long bar which is crafted from poured concrete, fiber optic partitions, mosaics, art, and sheets of water cascading down copper water sculptures. On the west side of the building large windows look out towards the lake, with a peek-a-boo lake view through the motels, which are located on the opposite side of London Bridge Road.
Open for lunch and dinner, the restaurant's owners, Tom and Laurie Moses were initially known for the Paradise Café, which is located along the Colorado River near Parker Dam. The Moses' opened the Paradise Café in 1982, and in 2000 they purchased the Lake Havasu City property where Cha Bones now sits.
The Moses' have two sons, Chasen and Cameron. It was Chasen's nickname, Cha-Bones that gave them the idea for the restaurant's name. Cha-Bones features Angus beef steak and prime rib, seafood, pasta, salads, pizza, chicken, sandwiches, desserts and a wide selection of appetizers. They offer a full bar and specialty drink menu.
The appetizers included tempura vegetables, humas, calamari, oysters, ahi, lettuce wraps and more. During happy hour, from 3-6 pm the appetizers are offered at a reduced price.
We recently visited the restaurant for lunch, and I enjoyed their California Chicken Sandwich, which included a chicken breast, avocado and bacon. I had a choice of homemade chips and fries, and went for the chips, which were very tasty.
The table next to us was served the Louisiana crab cake appetizer. According to what we overheard, the dish was a success, and the diners were very pleased. The other guests at our table enjoyed their meals, and I was surprised that the prices were reasonable. I'd heard Cha-Bones was high priced, yet the lunch was very affordable.
In Lake Havasu City, Cha-Bones is known as being an upscale dinner house, and is a favorite for many who enjoy taking advantage of the happy hour. They offer dine in and a take out menu. Their address is 112 London Bridge Road, Lake Havasu City Arizona. They are open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.
