Chad Michael Murray Biography

Chad Michael Murray was born on August 24, 1981 in Buffalo, New York. He has a sister, Shannon, three brothers, Rex, Nick, Brandon, and a half brother named Tyler. He graduated from Clarence High School in Clarence, New York, which is a town just outside of Buffalo. Murray has been working since he was ten years old. His first job he got as a newspaper delivery boy. He also worked in a doughnut shop and played high school football as a wide receiver. When a football injury stuck him in the hospital at age fifteen, he also had to have part of his small intestine removed as a result. Here's an interesting fact though, as a result from the surgery, he as difficulty gaining weight. While he was staying at the hospital after his surgery, a nurse mentioned that he should give modeling a try for a career.

He began modeling and soon modeled for clients such as Tommy Hilfiger, Sketchers, and Gucci. Murray also won a scholarship in Buffalo from an agency that sent him to Orlando, Florida for a modeling convention. A Los Angeles agent encouraged Murray to pursue his dream of an acting career. All of this happened in 1999, when Chad Michael Murray was only seventeen years old.

After graduation, Murray moved to Hollywood where he was able to support himself by modeling for different clients. It wasn't long after the auditioning process started that Murray made his first guest star appearance on Diagnosis Murder. He acted in several movies and TV shows. He has acted on Dawson's Creek as Charlie. It was on the set of Dawson's Creek that he was nicknamed "The Chad." He then landed a recurring role on Gilmore Girls. There he played one of Rory's classmates at Chilton. Murray has made appearances in television shows such as CSI over the years. In 2003, Murray became a co-star on the show One Tree Hill, which is where many people recognize him from now. He plays Lucas Scott, one of the brothers on the show. Chad Michael Murray has also been a part of several movies. In 2004, he completed two movies. In Freaky Friday he played Jake opposite of Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan. A Cinderella Story had Murray opposite of Hillary Duff and playing the role of Austin Ames. He has also costarred as Nick Jones in House of Wax that was released in 2005. 2006 brought another movie, Home of the Brave. In 2005, Murray married Sophia Bush, a costar on One Tree Hill. Soon after the wedding though, Bush filed for an annulment. Currently Murray is engaged to another One Tree Hill actress, extra Kenzie Dalton.

To add to Chad Michael Murray's list of accomplishments, he was also voted one of the ten hottest guys on TV by Teen People Magazine in the year 2002. Murray stays in shape by playing sports such as soccer, inline skating, pick-up games of football as well as working out in the gym on a regular basis. He is also an anti-drug abuse role model for younger children. Some of Murray's own role models include actors Edward Norton, Al Pacino, and Robert DeNiro.
