Chad's Steakhouse and Saloon in Tucson, Arizona, is a little hole-in-the-wall restaurant on the east side of Tucson. At the corner of Swan and Fort Lowell Road, Chad's is easy to miss if you are not familiar with the area. I found this place one night when some friends and I were looking for someplace new to try. We decided to stop in as we had seen the place dozens of times, but never really thought about actually stopping in to try it out.

The night that we decided to give it a shot was actually a very busy night. The parking at Chad's is horrible. The lot is not that great and during the busier times you may have to park on the street or take your chances parking in the neighboring business lots. You may also have to wait for a bit as it does get pretty busy around dinner time. Your best bet is to get there a little earlier.

When you finally get in, the seating and service is pretty decent. There have been times when we have had to wait for a bit for our server, but it is pretty obvious that they are working hard and not just sitting around which made it easier for us to just wait.

Truthfully the only thing that I like there is the prime rib and if you are a big fan of prime rib this will surely be a treat for you. You can get the regular or large size, the price difference is only a few dollars. I need to caution you however that the regular size is pretty hefty and if you don't have a big appetite I would steer clear of the large size. You also have your choice of sides such as rice or potatoes. I like the rice as it is not as filling as potatoes and allows me more room to fill up on the prime rib.

Prices are pretty steep if you are going there for dinner. You can easily spend $30 per person if you order a dinner entrée, appetizers and drinks. It is, however, a very enjoyable atmosphere as it is mostly couples or families. If the wait is long you can also have a few drinks at the bar until your table is ready. If you like steaks, ribs or prime rib and are on the east side of Tucson, then check out Chad's.
