Chained Desires: A Unique Sex Toy Shop in Baltimore

As you can imagine, in a big city like Baltimore, Maryland, there are lots of adult bookstores. Most adult bookstores in the city of Baltimore offer the standard magazines, videos, and toys that you'd expect to find in such an establishment. Last year for my birthday, however, I was the recipient of a gift certificate to a sex toy shop I had never heard of called "Chained Desires." I had recently started dating a new guy, so I was excited to head downtown to check the store out and get something fun & new to try out in the bedroom.

Chained Desires is located at 136 West Read Street in downtown Baltimore, but be careful when you are trying to find it. The store sits almost underground (except for a display window just at street level) and you have to walk down a small flight of stairs to get inside, so it can be easy to drive past! When I walked inside Chained Desires, I have to admit at first it was a little overwhelming. This was no ordinary sex toy shop! Instead, almost as soon as I walked in I saw all sorts of whips, gags, leather harnesses, and other fetish gear. I was immediately greeted by a very friendly salesperson who could tell I was overwhelmed and offered to walk me through the store and give me a "lay of the land."

I was very impressed by this. At most adult bookstores, the clerks are unhelpful and downright nasty, and I couldn't believe there was a sex toy shop that actually offered that level of personal service. After giving me a little tour, the Chained Desires staff person asked if I had any questions. I told her I was a vegetarian and didn't want to purchase anything that was leather, and she was able to show me some whips and restraints that were made out of "pleather" or fabric. She also said that most of there items were custom made, so if there was something I liked that didn't come in a non-leather version, I could probably place a special order for a "cruelty-free one."

The prices at Chained Desires were a bit on the high end of other sex toy shops I've seen, but given the high-quality of the merchandise and the level of personal service, I thought that was okay. In addition to a whole slew of fetish and bondage gear, Chained Desires also sells lubricants, condoms, and other "bedroom necessities" you'd expect to find at an adult bookstore. In the end, I was very pleased with my trip to Chained Desires in Baltimore, and I will definitely be returning to the store in the future. I would recommend a trip to this store to any adult who is looking for something exciting or unique to enhance their sex life!
