I take a step forward
I think I will begin again
I am restrained full force
Within this fence
It seems I cannot win
Chains seem to bind me
What I would..
I cannot do
I think when will they release me
So I can begin life anew?
Some who will not understand me
May call me dark and aloof
Those who would know me
Can see a better side of me
And break the forces
That seem to have hold of me
I go forward
Release your hold on me
Restrain me no more...

Post a Commentsometimes we need to walk... even for a little while... in the shadows before the light will shine on us. "Chains" in all their forms may hold us back, but our inner spark will fire up and melt them away when it's time to break free... but not a moment before YOU are ready... never feel for a moment that you have ever been alone with these feelings and poetry is a great way to let them out
Great poem :)
I can relate. Life ebbs and flows. Sometimes we thing we ebb too much but it is all good. You will flow again.
