Thanksgiving,
when the chairs were filled,
rumbled its cacophony:
laughter, stories, grumbles,
and the "too-much-turkey" groans,
made a happy family sound.
when the chairs were filled,
rumbled its cacophony:
laughter, stories, grumbles,
and the "too-much-turkey" groans,

But now the empty chairs sit out
as bittersweet reminders,
or are left in dusty closets,
unused by those too far away,
or gone Away.
I imagine great Thanksgiving
will not be harps and halos,
but a table to horizon,
filled to feast and
lined with golden chairs--
surrounded by
a great and welcoming noise.

Very proud to say that Tina is my niece, and the words that you have written are an eloquent description of how Thanksgiving is without Grandma and Grandpa.
Beautiful and touching, thank you and happy Thanksgiving1
