Challenging Scavenger Hunt Clues for Older Kids. (#21-#30)

Do You Need Some Scavenger Hunt Clues that Are More Challenging for Older Kids, or Even Adults?

Amy Faatz
I came up with these clues to use for my indoor scavenger hunts. I'll use them to hide my kid's Easter Baskets but you can use the clues to have scavenger hunts at cold weather birthday parties, reunions, or at any get-together. If you divide the kids into groups, scavenger hunts are a great way to break the ice when kids are shy because they have to work together to find the clues that eventually lead to the prize.

I like rhyming scavenger hunt clues, but that's just my preference. It's much easier to come up with clues when rhyming is not involved but here are a few ready-made clues that just might challenge your older kids, or even your adult friends!

Mold me and shape me but don't leave me out. Clue #21 knows I get hard and dry out. (PLAY DOH)

If you were soggy and wet like me you would cry. Clue #22 went here to get dry. (CLOTHES DRYER)

Find Clue #23 if you push my buttons and use me to call. I can reach really far but I'm not very tall. (TELEPHONE)

Clue #24 isn't freezing, but might be very cold. Don't stand with the door open, everyone is told. (REFRIGERATOR)

Clue #25 says, "My name isn't Frosty but he would like it in here. He would be all nice and comfy, with nothing to fear." (FREEZER)

I have keys but I don't open a door. Clue #26 can use me for files, info, games and more. (COMPUTER)

Clue #27 can use me to be a little bit taller. People who use me are usually smaller. (STOOL)

Clue #28 found the home to most things metal and shiny. Some things have chains or gems that are tiny. (JEWELRY BOX)

Clue #29 found a home for goldfish that are never wet. You all love to eat them and you don't need a net. (GOLDFISH CRACKERS)

Clue #30 knows you need me to get ready at night. I'm with you in bed when you're tucked up real tight. (PAJAMAS)

As you can see, I have small children at home and most of the scavenger hunt clues refer to their toys, young fears and young activities. If you need some clues for an adult scavenger hunt, leave me a comment after this article and I'll work on an article containing even more challenging clues!

I am hosting Easter this year for my nieces & nephews ranging from age 9-20. Weather permitting, I am hoping to do an outdoor scavenger hunt to keep them busy for about 20 minutes. Only if they participate will they win a prize. I really have enjoyed reading your indoor scavenger hunt rhyming clues, do you have any clues for the outdoors and for teenagers.
