Chamillionaire's Ultimate Victory: Album Review

Conscience
Chamillionaire, one of the South's finest, has released his sophomore album, "Ultimate Victory." Chamillionaire became the biggest ringtone selling artist ever, surpassing 4 million album sales. Usually, when rappers release their sophomore albums, they flop, or they don't achieve or surpass the critical acclaim of their original album. This album is not only unique on that one factor alone; most people will view this album as something that hip-hop needs today. Chamillionaire, who is perceieved to be an anti-materialist ,drops an album that will not only receive critical acclaim, but will serve as a clear indication that there are some lyrical artists in the "Dirty South."

The tracklist consist of titles such as: (1)Morning News; (2)Hip-Hop Police featuring: a legend from the 80's in Slick Rick; (3)Standing Ovation; (4)Won't Let You Down; (5)Industry Groupie; (6)Pimp Mode-featuring a legend from the south and one-half of the legendary duo UGK in Bun B; (7)Rock Star featuring Lil Wayne (8)(Skit) (9)Bill Collector featuring Krayzie Bone (10)Ultimate Vacation; (11)Come Back to the Streets; (12)I Think I Love You; (13)Evening News; (14)Welcome to the South featuring the other half of UGK in Pimp C; (15)You Must Be Crazy; (16)We Breakin Up; (17)Stuck in the Ghetto(skit); (18)Rocky Road featuring another on of houston's finest and pioneers, Devin the Dude; (19)Ultimate Victory.

It is quite apparent that his sales won't reach or even come close to reaching September 11th's showdown between Kanye West's "Graduation" and 50 Cent's "Curtis," or maybe even do numbers like his predecessor "The Sound of Revenge," he will most likely go platinum. There is also no doubt that he will achieve platinum status regarding the bootlegging phenomenon. This alblum will conclude September and the climax of hip-hop in 2007, however we still have albums to look forward to in this year's fourth quarter.
