I recently had the opportunity to fly with Champion Air. It was a chartered flight to Montego Bay, Jamaica and was booked through a travel agency. Chartered is the way to go! No lay overs, no long delays, no chance of losing your luggage in a plane switch. If possible, choose a charter flight and you will save the dollars it will cost you to book a direct flight with a larger airline.
Upon arrival at the airport on both our departure and return flights, we were greeted with smiles at the Champion Air counter even though it was 4:30 am when we left for our trip. We were asked where we would like to sit and as long as the seats were available, we were granted our request. I over packed my large suitcase and it was over the weight limit. The employee waited patiently as I switched items to another bag and rearranged my belongings. It was embarrassing, but after being weighed again, my luggage passed!
This is definitely a no frills airline, but I would rather pay less than having tons of bells and whistles. A beverage service is included and snacks are available for purchase. You can bring a snack with you and enjoy it with your complimentary drink. I felt completely safe as I was flying in a 757 which has approximately 170 seats. It was not a small airplane like one may assume when flying a chartered flight.
The flight attendants are very pleasant, kind, and personable. You can tell that they are there to serve the customers. They greeted us when we arrived, smiled at us and enjoyed conversing with us. It was obvious to see that the flight attendants were like a family and I suppose this is because it is a smaller airline. We were privileged to celebrate with a retiring flight attendant during her last flight. Signs of congrats were hung in the front of the plane and we sang a song for her. It was neat to be a part of it.
I highly recommend Champion Air as your charter airline of choice.

Post a CommentYou mentioned feeling safe while flying in a 757 with Champion Air.......
Impossible!!
Champion Air ONLY has 727-200's. 16 of them in fact! They stopped making them in 1984. The NEWEST your plane could have been is 24 years old.... probably older. All of their large contracts are ending by August 2008 so they wont be around much longer.
