Chances the San Diego Chargers Move to Los Angeles

Does LA Deserve a Football Team?

Jrebound
Every time an NFL team announces their plans for relocation, football fans immediately think about the city of Los Angeles. Los Angeles is very well known for its famous sports teams such as the Dodgers, Lakers, and Kings, but did you know that it does not have a football team? The city Los Angeles is one of the very few cities in the United States that does not have an NFL team, but that may change within a few years since there has been some commotion of the San Diego Chargers moving to another city due to issues within their own city. The Chargers want a new stadium

Since I am a citizen of San Diego, I strongly disagree with the Chargers leaving this beautiful city. Not only is San Diego one of the cleanest cities in the United States, but the people here are friendly as well. San Diego should not lose an NFL franchise just because the city of Los Angeles has a stadium waiting for them. The Chargers owners should be ashamed of themselves for even considering leaving this city for another city that has already lost two NFL franchises. It is really tough to fathom the idea of San Diego not having the Chargers who also have tons of loyal fans here. The sports fans of Los Angeles are pretty well-known for bashing their teams when they are having a losing season. For example, The Los Angeles Lakers from 2005 had their worst season since 1994 and it would eventually lead to the idea of trading Kobe Bryant by his most loyal fans. The Oakland Raiders were once the Los Angeles Raiders from 1982 to 1994 and actually had a pretty heavy fan base. Unfortunately, due to a letter of intent signed by Al Davis, the Raiders returned to Oakland. Coincidentally, Los Angeles had another football team called the Rams and they moved to another city as well in 1994. The now St. Louis Rams were considered an embarrassment during their final years in Los Angeles. They moved to St. Louis because plots of land that were never developed.

The chances of the Chargers moving to Los Angeles were very high in the beginning of 2009 according to www.sports.yahoo.com , but as the year went by those chances shrunk dramatically. There is still a small chance that the unthinkable can happen because NFL owners can easily have a change of mind. Fortunately, San Diego is one of the attractive cities in the USA and that can easily lure other NFL teams who hope to make the same decisions that the Los Angeles Rams made.
