Change Your Habits for Glowing Skin

Skin is the most visible part of our human beings. Taking care of it does not require an extensive amount of time, energy or a complicated process. By changing our habits and pay closer attention to what we put in our body will help our skin glows.

Concentrate on these five simple steps to give your skin that shimmering look. We do most of these routines regularly, only now we should give them a deeper purpose in serving us better.

Eat Well

Eating healthy and nutritious foods are the key to keep your skin beautiful. Ground flax seed, salmon and tuna are high in Omega-3 fatty acids, which yield a lustrous look. Fresh fruits and vegetables that are high in antioxidants help prevent cells from damage by pollutions. They also provide nutrients, and vitamins to keep your skin radiant.

Do Not Smoke

Our society is not very tolerable with smokers these last many years. That is because there is nothing good to say about smoking, and its effect to the body is very serious. Second-hand smokers suffer the same, if not more, than the actual smokers themselves. When you smoke, you constrict the blood vessels, and block oxygen to your skin, which cause your skin to age. Seek help, if you cannot overcome it by yourself, because nicotine is an addiction just like drug.

Drink Smartly

Water is your best source of helping the body to flush out toxins. Avoid alcoholic drink since it breaks the capillaries underneath the skin, and causes blotchy complexion. Beverage such as coffee, and caffeinated drinks can lead to dehydration. Keep your skin hydrated by drinking eight glasses of water every day.

Cover it Up

Remember to wear your sunscreen even in the colder months. Protect your skin from the sun damaging rays of both UVA and UVB. A SPF (sun protection factor) of at least 30 is recommended, and apply twice a day. During the summer months, use wide brimmed hat to guard your skin from UV rays.

Handle with Care

Avoid long, hot shower or bath, since it can cause dehydration to your skin. Blot dry, and lock in moisture by applying lotion to damp skin.

When washing your face, be gentle and use circular motions with mild cleanser. If you have acne skin, find oil-free product to use. Do not pick at your skin because you can cause inflammation and scarring.

We eat, drink, and bathe every day, but if we eat the right foods, drink the right fluid, and bathe at a perfect temperature; we will enhance a healthier look to our skin. Quit smoking, and wear sun protection also prevent our skin from premature aging. Live well, and live healthy.
