meant to imply many differences
not many of which are good.
Change of Life holds a promise
things will not be the same
in ways you can't imagine.
Sweating, freezing, sweating
through the night and day
eventually will pass.
Waking, waking, waking
through the night
may never pass.
A little anger, some frustration,
a pinch of salt and pepper
in your mood, will pass.
Surprises of sadness
and joy too will
keep you on your toes.
Many changes you'll notice,
your hair, your skin,
a wrinkle here and there.
Other changes will delight you
with promises of
things you can't imagine
while sweating through the night.
What is this thing that's happening,
this lustful feeling deep inside
at most unexpected moments.
Who never traveled
is roaming the world to
far away places.
Who was it that danced
on that table in Mexico
smiling and singing along?
Is this love again? Could it
be that I have a newness
to my feelings and thoughts?
