Change is Within Everything

Mike Oberg

Molecules flow in and out of cells,

Continually replacing each other.

Our cells live a few years at most

While our bodies live much longer.

Countries may last even longer

But the people in them change.

Only the nonphysical

Can be constant

At its core

Everything else

Is built on change.

Stability in our world

Is more of an appearance

Than an underlying reality.

Patterns may be repeated,

But the materials change.

Even our currency shows

This underlying principle:

When we break a dollar,

What we get is change!

Oh My Goodness. I had to go back and read through this a few extra times. I adore the physics metaphors, and now can clearly see why you enjoyed them on my last one.

This is amazing, so poetically physiology in the first few verses, too.

I like the comparison of cells in bodies to people in countries. Very good.

That was great, Mike. Loved it right to the last line.

Very short and simple, yet holds much insight to how our world came to be. I enjoyed every word :)

@Wilma, I assume you mean because I started with "in and out" and then ended with a discussion of money! LOL!

Sounds like a poem about sex to me. Good job.
