Change the World by Eating, Drinking and Pooping?

Proverbs 23:23 says Buy the truth and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding. This scripture makes it abundantly clear that there are times when it will be necessary for the Christian to spend some money in his or her quest to obtain truth, wisdom, instruction, and understanding. This can be seen in the purchasing of books, audio programs, and instructional DVDs. It can also be seen in the purchasing of a plane, train or bus ticket in order to travel to a place where a great man or woman of God is teaching. The diligent Christian should always be prepared to do these things and more, and should never spend more money on what goes on them than what goes in them - what I mean is, a Christian should never spend more money on cloths then they do on books.

If you continuously purchase audio programs, books and DVDs written and produced by great people of God, and listen to them day in and day out - feeding yourself a daily diet of profound revelation, you will have no other choice but to walk in the power and authority that Jesus talked about in Mark 11:23.

"For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith."

Your diligent studies will cause you to grow spiritually which will result in you changing the environment around you. Check out Numbers 13:23. The spies who were sent to spy out the Promised Land cut down some fruit in order to bring back evidence of the land's richness. You may remember Moses instructing them to do so in chapter 13:20. Verse 23 reads:

"And they came unto the brook of Esh'col, and cut down from thence a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it between two upon a staff."

The grapes were so big, that they had to be hung on a staff and carried between two people. These weren't the grapes you buy at the grocery store. It doesn't take two people to carry the grapes that you buy from Pathmark or Sam's Club. But my question is, how did these grapes grow so big? We find a clue in verse 27. The spies are talking to Moses about the land and they say:

"We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it."

That phrase "milk and honey" doesn't mean that milk was literally flowing on the ground and you to get on all fours and drink it off the ground mixed with mud - that would be disgusting. No, "milk" refers to the milk producing animals that were in the Promised Land - cows, goats, sheep. The land "flowing with milk" means that there was large number of milk producing animals walking freely about.

What does that have to do with the size of the grapes you ask? Well the animals, especially the cows, were not domesticated, that's why the bible says that the milk was "flowing" - meaning walking around freely and unrestrained by man. So this means that the cattle would walk around eating all day. And because they ate all day, it caused them to poop a lot. And cow manure is a very rich fertilizer that will cause things to grow bigger - in this case, the grapes. So the cattle were unconsciously changing the physical environment around them just by virtue of them eating so much.

What does all of that have to do with you studying the word of God, listening to audio programs, and flying across the country to attend Christian conferences in order to grow in wisdom and faith? Well because, when you eat so much of the word of God, and you begin to digest his wisdom continually, as a result you'll begin to release things out of you that will cause the people around you to grow bigger and stronger just by virtue of being in your presence. Like the pooping cows, you won't be able to hold it in. For lack of a better term, you will release spiritual fertilizer. Whenever you speak, wisdom will just effortlessly come out of your mouth. You'll unintentionally say useful and insightful things - why? Because of what you've been eating and the amount you've been eating. When you pour so much faith and life (word of God) into your system, after a period of time you'll show up to a place and power will seep out of your pores, and you'll physically change the environment around you.

Every book you read will cause you to grow which will cause people to be attracted to you and see you as a leader. On top of your daily Bible study, commit to reading another book by a Christian author for one hour a day. This will translate into one book a week - which will translate into four books a month - 48 books a year - 480 books in ten years. This will cause you to speak, teach and minister out of what I call the "overflow mode."

The best way to describe the "overflow mode" is to use a pitcher of water as an analogy. A pitcher (minister/Christian) that is overflowing can fill more glasses (people) than a pitcher that's half empty or even full. Its o.k. to minister out of a full pitcher, however, it's best to pour (minister to others) out of a pitcher that is overflowing. The reason for this is because even a full pitcher requires you to tilt it in order to pour into a glass, and after the pouring is complete the pitcher is somewhat emptied (tired/strained). However, if the pitcher is overflowing, the only requirement for those who wish to drink is to bring their cups close to the pitcher and catch the overflowing abundance. It now becomes effortless for the pitcher to fill the glasses of the thirsty. Also, a tilted pitcher can only fill one glass at a time. This is not the case for the overflowing pitcher; all who are thirsty can bring their glasses to be filled at the same time. The only thing that can stop the pitcher from overflowing is to stop the flow of water (word of God) into the pitcher. Never stop the flow of water into your pitcher, and never stop eating. People around you are relying on your fertilizer for nourishment and your water to wash it down.
