Changing the Rules of Fantasy Land

A Poem

Linda Stamberger
As an American, I glimpsed the inside of fantasy land,

where people did as they wanted,

ain't life grand?

Lie, cheat, steal and maim, all the while saying

"I'm not the one to blame".

In fantasy land people were governed by God's will...

blaming the divine now for that bitter pill?

They swallowed to make the bright goodness go away,

evil had it made in the shade, where the dimwits did play.

Now there is a light breaking through, a glimmer of hope for us

all.

Oh how the mighty swine tumble and whine as they fall.
