Changing My Way

What Would it Bring?

Gary DeLaney
While walking down my path one day,
I found a new one that led me away,
To a forest thick with brambles and briers.

The path grew small and hard to see,
But ahead there is a light I see,
Little did I know I was entering the fryers.

A blazing desert was laid before me.
So desolate and dead as far as I can see.
Onward I press! I will find the way!

With the way I knew lying so far behind,
I looked for any logic I could find,
In this new way I had followed this day.

Forever passed and the night was cold,
I was starting to feel dismayed and old.
Until my feet hit the grass of a field.

I walked a while to a pond in the grass,
Never thinking this would come to pass.
This new hard way has much to yield!
