The woman never received any traditional medical treatment of any kind. This was partly because she had no medical insurance and partly due to a lack of trust in doctors when it came to cancer treatment. The all natural foods and herbs used in her treatment achieved the full eradication of the tumor within one week. That was more than twelve years ago and she enjoys good health to this day. The tumor began to shrink after only 2 days of total adherence to the very strict program. chaparral was especially chosen to be included in her plan of recovery for its powerful medicinal properties. The herb has the properties of an antiseptic, antibiotic, parasiticide, and alterative (blood purifier). It also contains a natural substance known as NDGA which is an antioxidant, preservative of fats and oils and an anti-tumor agent (Michael Tierra, C.A., N.D., The Way of Herbs [New York, NY: Pocket Books, 1989], 117).
This substance is so effective in the shrinkage of tumors and growths that concentrates of the herb have been used to shrink warts. The part of chaparral used is the leaves. One of the most natural ways of ingesting the herb is to drink an infusion. An infusion is prepared by pouring a cup of boiling water over a teaspoon of the leaves and allowing it to stand covered for at least 3 minutes. Only the bulk herb should be used. The infusion (tea) is then strained and drank while hot. chaparral has an awful taste, but the use of a sweetener, even an all natural one should be avoided. This is especially important when employing the medicinal plant in the treatment of cancer.
Chaparral is very potent as is the case with most of the bitter herbs. This potency must be respected. Far too many people abuse all natural substances thinking they can do no harm. The truth is that since ancient days herbs have been used to poison as well as to cure. They are substances that, if abused, can cause very serious health problems. More is not always better. According to the article "Natural Health Techniques: Chaparral" by Dr. Denice Moffat, prolonged use and/or high doses of the herb may threaten the health of the liver. One week of drinking one cup of infusion per day should suffice. Although the period of treatment may need to be continued for another week or so, success should be visible after only one week of use. Of course, chaparral should be used to work in conjunction with a complete and well planned program of all natural treatment supported by a healing diet.
