Chapter Two-Diary of Alzheimer's Patient

Mike Hazelwood
Diary of Alzheimer's Victim

7:00 A.M. Well, it has been a few days since I have been able to pen down any new thoughts. I misplaced my diary, and I just found in the bottom of my cluttered suitcase. Things are not getting much better for me since the last time I had written. The other day Bud and I were at our woodworking class and I had left my project at home. Bud got mad at me about having to drive home to pick the wooden dolphin up. I felt like telling him to stick it where the sun doesn't shine, but I guess I better not. Hell, if this keeps getting worse I don't know what Bud's going to do with me. He is starting to really get annoyed by everything crazy thing I do. Dear God what is wrong with me?

9:00 A.M. Still have not heard anything from the doctor's office about my tests. I would try to call, but I cannot seem to remember the phone number. I believe it might be in black leather jacket, but I'm not sure. I will have to check the pocket out and see.

10:00 A.M. Bud and I ran to the grocery store to buy some groceries. Bud let me drive the Crown Victoria, but we got down to the end of the street and I couldn't remember which way to go. Bud told me to get out of the car and let him. I'm really getting discouraged today; I'm not really sure what I'm going to do.

1:00 P.M. Stephanie called me today an asked if her and Mike could come and visit. I told her that would be great. It's going to be so good to get see my family from Kentucky.

3:00 P.M. My doctor finally called me about my tests. He wants me to stop by the office at towards the end of the week to go over the test results. Okay, I'm going to write a sticky note and tape it to the refrigerator so I won't forget.

7:00 P.M. Well, it's about time to go to bed. I having a hard time today remembering anything much which has happened today, so I'm going to hit the sack.

It is good to read real life stories so others in the same situation don't feel so alienated.

I really enjoy reading your stories. I had two grandparents who had this disease. Thanks for showing how the process slowly changes its victims.
