Charlie Sheen, Actions Not Only Tolerated but Practically Celebrated (Video Link)

Charlie Sheen, the actor who plays Charlie Harper in "Two And A Half Men" is a classic example of life imitating art as his latest rampage on October 26 at The Plaza Hotel adds another negative notch to his rather worn belt. While Sheen sent a message to RadarOnline.com stating that the incident in New York City was "overblown" and "overplayed", his extensive history as a 'bad boy' suggests otherwise.

Sheen went into a major tirade on Tuesday morning while allegedly on an alcohol and/or drug binge when he thought the call girl he was with (now identified as porn star Capri Anderson) had stolen his wallet. After trashing his hotel room (to the tune of $7,000 in damages), Anderson called police who took Sheen to a local hospital where he voluntarily underwent a psychiatric evaluation.

This latest incident, however, still does not seem to shift the public's image of Sheen to an unfavorable light. Add to the fact that Sheen is currently just about a week shy of completing probation for his Aspen Christmas, 2009 assault on current wife Brooke Mueller, and one can only wonder why such antics are tolerated.

In fact, the public seems to embrace Charlie Sheen/Charlie Harper, both the person and the actor, practically expecting his behavior and silently condoning it.

According to TMZ.com, the Aspen District Attorney's office told them they are aware of the incident at the Plaza Hotel, but unless they receive "facts showing Sheen violated his probation", they will not take "any action."

Even after the alleged attack on Mueller, Sheen was awarded with a new contract from CBS in May, 2010 to continue with 'Two And A Half Men" at reportedly $2 million per episode. With his troubled past and the fact that Sheen had expressed a desire to take a break after seven years on the sitcom, many were certain Sheen was on his way out.

But Sheen is resilient and despite his record of many self-imposed troubles, the star still has a huge fan base. In fact, high-profile publicist Howard Bragman stated to Good Morning America, "The public still seems to like Charlie Sheen, and it hasn't caught up with him."

Bragman also said, "We've seen it so many times that we hardly get fazed when something happens to Charlie Sheen."

Gloria Allred also spoke to GMA stating, "The court system has not treated him and given him the serious consequences he deserves, given his conduct.

Allred added, "I think Charlie sheen got a sentence in a theater of the absurd," she said. "He should have gone to jail."

His real life actions are generally consistent with his "Uncle Charlie" role. He pretty much plays himself on TV.

Our society has definitely become quite warped!

It's odd that doing 7K worth of property damage isn't a probation violation but I think many hotels will let celebrities do anything.
