Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan, Death or Dominion Over Demons?

Carol Whyte
It's a tragic variation of the same theme for Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan, and that is the fact that alcohol and/or drugs control their lives and continuously result in ugly and at times very frightening consequences. As Sheldon Kopp (an American psychotherapist who died in 1999) said so well, "All significant battles are waged within the self," and apparently, Sheen and Lohan are bearing the cruxes of their demons now.

While Lohan is currently in rehab at the Betty Ford Rehab Center, Charlie Sheen was just found this morning (Tuesday, October 26), naked and drunk at The Plaza Hotel in midtown New York. Some reports state that Sheen was with a call girl, had been using cocaine for days, and went "berserk" when he couldn't find his wallet.

Apparently, Sheen thought the call girl stole his wallet along with his cell phone and subsequently trashed the room at The Plaza Hotel before security was called. A chandelier and furniture were stated to be damaged according to a police report.

Sheen was then transported to New York Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and according to a report by the New York Post, he is undergoing an evaluation of his mental health.

According to Sheen's PR rep, the oft-troubled actor had a bad reaction to some medication which thus caused the outburst and subsequent mayhem.

Sheen had been in New York with his ex Denise Richards and their two daughters on vacation and just recently saw Mary Poppins on Broadway a few days ago.

Lohan continues to spiral in her battle with drugs as well. Currently she has been ordered by LA Judge Elden Fox to remain in rehab until January 3, 2011. Lohan voluntarily checked herself in to the world-famous center located in Rancho Mirage, California and opened in 1982.

This is Lohan's fifth stint in rehab but Chris Hanley, producer of "Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story" in which Lohan is slated to star, said that his star has talent and he will wait for her.

In fact, Hanley said that Lohan's talent "weighs very heavily" in his decision to support her recovery and her role in this next project.

Regardless of what projects Sheen and Lohan will be involved in, however, is not at stake. The most important thing is that both fragile stars gain control of their demons and their lives.
