Charlie Sheen is Ready to Return to Work After His Brief Rehab at Home

Charlie Sheen Says He is OK for Two and a Half Men Filming to Recommence

The last that we heard of Two And A Half Men star Charlie Sheen was that he was undergoing rehab at home, following his admission to hospital on the 27th January after a wild 36 hour sex and drugs party with a group of prostitutes and women from the porn industry.

He has now announced that he will be resuming filming of the series on 28 February, which is good news for the cast and production team of this popular sitcom, since the suspension of the show's production has also affected earnings of everyone involved.

Even though filming is set to continue, CBS told Entertainment Weekly that only four more episodes of Two And A Half Men would be made before the end of the season. That is four episodes less than were originally planned, and it makes you wonder what CBS has in store for the future of the show.

Charlie Sheen is reported to earn $1.25 million for each episode of the show, and the show could not go on without him, however you wonder what lies behind the CBS motives for cutting the season short.

It is very likely that they have lost trust in the ability of Charlie Sheen to live up to expectations, and can you blame them after the headlines in the gossip columns about him in the last few months.

It's hard to promote a family oriented show like Two And A Half Men when the star is continually in the news for activities that most people would prefer not to think about, especially in front of the children, and the recent events involving Charlie Sheen are certain to affect the show ratings, as well as that of CBS should they continue to use his services.

It's also a costly experience when production of a show is halted because of the antics of one of its stars. This affects not only the people involved with the production, but television scheduling, and the reputation of the production company.

My personal thoughts are that after tidying up loose ends and completing the final four episodes of the current season, they will call an end to Two And A Half Men, and look for another series to replace it in the coming Fall season.

I would not be surprised if they did not have something in the pipeline already.

@Mike I can't see how two weeks at home can be classified as adequate rehab. That's barely enough time to go cold turkey! I would bet that before the filming of the remaining 4 episodes is over he flips out again.

Good report, Tony. I saw excerpts of a call-in Charlie Sheen made to a radio talk show yesterday... he is obviously not rehabilitated, as he displays a casual and flippant attitude toward the process. If he doesn't get serious about rehab, I believe CBS will have to either cancel his show or terminate his contract.

Very short rehab for sure! Interesting article!

yeah, but they cut half of the episodes because of his absence

He needs help. But I have to admit, I was a bit stunned that you referred to "Two and a Half Men" as a family oriented show. If he thinks the person he portrays on that show is normal, no wonder he's so confused.

The amount he makes per episode is ridiculous! I doubt that brief rehab period has helped at all.

@Charlie I agree with you. He is fooling around, but it affects the lives and incomes of many more people who earn a mere fraction of what he does. I think these actors are paid far too much.
