Charlie Sheen Recharges His Twitter Engine with 'Fastball'

The Unemployed Actor Continues to Soar on Twitter

Charlie Sheen continues to soar on Twitter. Part of his rise to Twitter popularity has been his use of hashtags. Twitter incorporates hashtags to provide real-time tracking of a specific topic. The creator of #TigerBlood and #Winning has been busy promoting a new hashtag - #Fastball.

Some examples?

"#fastball; the LAPD were AWESOME. Absolute pros! they can protect and serve this Warlock anytime!!! c."

"#fastball; After years of being at the mercy of a decaying troll, charliesheen.com is finally in the hands of its Warlock owner! Go Now! c."

In addition, Sheen's Twitter photo is him holding a baseball with the hashtag #fastball.

As Annie Barrett from "Entertainment Weekly" explained, Twitter has become a "direct line" to anyone who is famous. Charlie Sheen, 45, continues to attract more and more people to his Twitter page, despite what many consider being crazy antics. In a relatively short amount of time, his numbers have risen to over 2 million and reaching 3 million fast.

In fact, Sheen broke a Guinness record - "Fastest Time to Reach 1 Million Followers." Sheen, who joined Twitter with his @CharlieSheen account on March 1, did it in 25 hours and 17 minutes.

In addition to his Twitter campaign, Sheen managed to sell out his currently in development "My Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat Is Not an Option" show in just minutes at both the Chicago and Detroit locations.

"Fastball; Detroit/Chicago sold out in minutes... Thanks to Sheen's Cadre..! #WINNING c," tweeted Sheen.

Tickets ranged from $35 to $80. Sheen's strategy is working so well that fans bought tickets to a show they know little about. What information did Sheen give about the show? "You know by now my promises are golden . . . I'm bringing My Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat Is Not An Option tour out to you in the battlefield. If you're winning, I'll see you there."

In any case, Sheen has pledged to donate $1 for every ticket sold to the victims of Japan's Earthquake.

A "winning" move?
