Charlie Sheen talked to Dan Patrick about being sober from drugs and alcohol and being ready to go back to work on "Two and a Half Men " even though the show's management seemed not to hold the same sentiment reducing Charlie's role to only 4 more episodes. Rumors have been going around about "Two and a Half Men" being canceled, but what I make from Charlie Sheen's statements (that he has a 2-year contract, he is a man of his word who honors his contracts and that he would hope the other people involved with the show would do the same) is that he is going to be paid either way, so they might as well make the show. Charlie Sheen's current contract is speculated to be worth $1.8 million per episode. I don't know if any of that money is guaranteed, but if it is, Charlie Sheen may have enough leverage to squeeze another season out of the show. So I wouldn't call "Two and a Half Men" dead just yet.
In the interview with Dan Patrick, Charlie Sheen was a real guy instead of being a well-prepped, damage control drone saying all the right cliches. Charlie Sheen acknowledged his drinking and drug use to Dan Patrick and said he didn't drink alcohol or do drugs because of pressure from the people around him or because of an addiction, he drank and did drugs because he was bored and wanted to enhance the moment.
Later in the interview, Charlie Sheen told Dan Patrick that he hasn't been to the new Yankee stadium. Dan Patrick then asked him why this was and Charlie Sheen replied, "Where would I stay?" His comment was referring to what happened at the Plaza hotel with Charlie Sheen on October 26, 2010 where the police had to remove Sheen from the hotel after causing an estimated total of $7000 in damages. According to the NYPD, Sheen admitted to being under the influence of drugs and alcohol during the incident. Dan Patrick then offered for Charlie to stay at his house. Charlie Sheen immediately replied "Done." He was obviously not joking and went on to promise he would stay at Dan Patrick's house.
Charlie Sheen went on from there to offer Dan Patrick to stay at his house. Dan asked what they would do there and if Dan would have a beer and Charlie would have a Gatorade, which was in regards to Charlie Sheen currently being sober from drugs and alcohol. Charlie said yes to this and commented they would hang out and see what celebrities dropped by throughout the night.
Dan Patrick offered Charlie Sheen to be his baseball analyst and Charlie immediately agreed and offered to come in studio.
It was easy to gather from the Dan Patrick interview that Charlie Sheen's lifestyle is based on the basis of the movie "Yes Man" starring Jim Carey since Charlie is open for anything just to see where the moment takes him. With all the bad press on him he is obviously still happy and still standing. Most people are oppressed by their own minds, but for better or worse, Charlie Sheen isn't. Even if he does go too far and ultimately does crash and burn, there's something to be admired about that type of freedom.

I can't write this in the third person... I just can't. To do so would make me feel like a douche big enough to accommodate Madonna. My articles are a change of pace from what you can expect anywhere else. M... View profile
