Charlie Sheen's Rant Leads to "Two and a Half Men" Being Cancelled?

Charlie Sheen's recent TMZ rant resulted in his hit show "Two and a Half Men" being cancelled (well, at least for this season). CBS halted production yesterday citing "Charlie Sheen's statements, conduct and condition" as the reason for finally giving up on shooting the series this season (no word on if it's actually cancelled for good or if it will be back in the future yet).

The news that this season would be cancelled came shortly after Charlie Sheen's bizarre radio rant on Thursday in which he attacked "Two and a Half Men" executive producer Chuck Lorre by calling him a clown and stating that "I embarrassed him in front of his children and the world by healing at a pace that this un-evolved mind cannot process" (referring to an ongoing feud regarding who will live longer, Sheen or Lorre). He also attacked AA, the many women he sleeps with, and unspecified enemies, to which he threatened: "If you infiltrate and try to hurt my family, I will murder you violently."

After his radio rant, Charlie Sheen kept talking to TMZ, telling the gossip site that he wants to fight Chuck Lorre in an octagon. He goes on to rant that he "violently" hates Lorre and calls him "a stupid, stupid little man and a p**sy punk that I'd never want to be like."

After running his mouth in this way, it's hard to blame Chuck Lorre and CBS for making the decision to pull the plug on the show. However, it's going to be hard for the rest of the cast and crew who are losing work because of Charlie Sheen's bad behavior.

But is no more work enough of a punishment to force Charlie Sheen to get his life back on track? Judging from the strongly-worded letter he sent to TMZ in response to the end of this season of "Two and a Half Men", he's not happy about the show going off air. Sheen says of Lorre: "...this contaminated little maggot can't handle my power and can't handle the truth." And he seems to like using insect imagery; he also calls Lorre an earthworm.

At the end of his letter rant, he asks his loyal fans to walk by his side "to right this unconscionable wrong," so it does seem that he didn't want production to be halted (even though he's got to have enough money by now to live on for the rest of his life).

Still, it might not be enough for Charlie Sheen to get his act together. Just look at Lindsay Lohan: she hasn't had a hit movie for years, and the lack of work hasn't made her improve her life. But perhaps if Charlie doesn't clean up his life and "Two and a Half Men" does get cancelled for good, he, Lindsay, and Miley Cyrus can team up for the future reality series "Two and a Half Addicts" when they get desperate for cash and the spotlight.

Charlie may like insect imagery but earthworns aren't insects.

Insects (by definition) have six legs.
