Charlie Weis Fired as Notre Dame Head Coach?

Chris Houston
The New York Daily News is reporting that Notre Dame head football coach Charlie Weis has been fired. Weis, whose team struggled to a 6-6 finish this season, was on the hot seat before the season ever began.
Charlie Weis didn't compile an incredible winning percentage or keep Notre Dame in the BCS standings at any point during his tenure at Notre Dame.

It looks as if Charlie Weis could have been fired in the past 24 hours following a tough season ending loss to Stanford on national television on Saturday night. The New York Daily News was the first to break the Charlie Weis being fired story according to ESPN. Look for Notre Dame to hold a press conference in the coming 24 hours to officially announce that Charlie Weis has been fired if that is indeed true.
