Charlie's Sheen Has Taken Over the News

Apple IPad2 & James Franco Loses Luster to Charlie Sheen's Sheen

Charlie Sheen may be incredibly troubled now, he's certainly facing unemployment since CBS pulled his hit TV sitcom, "Two and A Half Men." He lost custody of his kids - his twin sons. But for all these troubles and all the mounds of bad publicity, many are down right thrilled Charlie Sheen has single-handedly taken over the entire entertainment media spotlight. Yes, the 'Sheen' of Charlie Sheen obscures practically all of Hollywood, and even clouds out tech giants like Apple and a new iPad sequel launch. Sheen's Sheen has given new light and luster to the notion of publicity storm.

After James Franco and Anne Hathaway's less than stellar Oscar hosting performance, I'm sure they must be thrilled everybody keeps covering Sheen. Franco and Hathaway were billed as young, hip and Hollywood to the core. Nobody can argue that they're young, hip (somewhat anyway), and certainly Hollywood, but for all who suffered through the Academy Award telecast, these are not hosts to call back ever. Instead of suffering the slings and arrows of negative critique after bad review, Franco and Hathaway seem to have been forgotten because of Charlie Sheen's Sheen.

Apple's new tablet computer launch is today - the mysterious new iPad or iPad2 (so creative). Big fruity Apple must be pretty bummed that the sheen of Charlie Sheen stole their thunder. Not so fast. Just imagine if this gadget is a dud. This new iPad must be faster, or lighter, or have a webcam or something, sure, but the price may be the same - or more - as old model, and new features may not wow those gadget geek sheep who snap up latest tech toys. If so, then Apple may love Charlie Sheen's sheen snapping up all the news nuggets.

Charlie Sheen has a long road ahead. The actor boasts talent, still has a great fan following, and undoubtedly will be granted many offers if "Two and a Half Men" never resumes production. However, Charlie Sheen's sheen is also angering a lot of people. Many fans are probably sick of him, or just downright disgusted at his erratic, even weird behavior. Those TV chats he's sitting down for - or the radio shows - aren't exactly endearing himself to the public. Whatever happens, it's clear Charlie Sheen's sheen is a powerful one. Perhaps he'll find a way to bottle that tonic, like a hair product. Charlie Sheen Hair Sheen anyone? It could be huge!

Some people may see Sheen as a mentally troubled soul, but I think he's been highly creative with his handling of his problems. Living near Los Angeles, I get the benefit of getting some of his radio bits before anyone else, especially since he's a big fan of local station KRTH (K-Earth 101 FM) and their morning show with Gary Bryan and crew. Lately, he's been phoning in stuff to Mr. Bryan between 6 and 7 AM, and it's been interesting to hear it first from the source. During these calls, he sounds incredibly poised and believable. One thing I've been wondering about since he was fired from "Two and a Half Men": will they be renaming it "Man and a Half"?

    Ha! Ha!

This article was funny and fresh-- I quite agree about Charlie Sheen's media takeover! I recently created a post on a housekeeping online forum I belong to... I was posting about my favorite laundry stain remover not being available to me... but after a day of it being up, I had no responses. Then, I added "Charlie Sheen" to the title of my post. Within ten minutes, I had two pages of responses! One of them went something like... "I was wondering what Charlie Sheen was up to with your stain stick!" ;)

Charlie has definitely taken over the news. My articles on him have had lots of traffic as well.
