Charlize Theron: Prometheus is a Dream Come True

The Oscar winning actress Charlize Theron has dreamt of working with director Ridley Scott for years. She told audiences at Comic-Con recently that anytime she would have a bad experience working with a director, she would tell her producing-partner how she wanted to "f*cking work with Ridley Scott" because he seemed like a guy who knew what he was doing and could take control. Her dream finally came true with their sci-fi film Prometheus.

Prometheus is a sci-fi alien film which originally was intended to be a prequel to the 70's flick Alien but has developed into more of an original story according to its filmmakers. The film is being directed by Ridley Scott, and Charlize Theron plays the role of Meredith Vickers.

At Comic-Con, Charlize Theron described her Prometheus character as being a "suit".

Besides Charlize Theron, also starring in Prometheus is actress Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, and Idris Elba. The writers are Damon Lindelof and Jon Spaihts. Actress Noomi Rapace is best known for her role in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. She will play the lead in Prometheus as a scientist named Dr. Elizabeth Shaw. Even though Noomi Rapace says her character is very different than Ripley from the original Alien movies, no doubt she will be compared to Sigourney Weaver's Ripley.

Even though Prometheus is more of a spin-off from the Alien movies than a prequel, Ridley Scott did tell Comic-Con audiences that there is a "big question from the first two Alien films that finally gets answered in Prometheus." Audiences will have to wait till next summer to find out exactly what Ridley Scott is referring to though. Prometheus is currently scheduled to be released in theaters June of 2012.
