dehydrated system.
There have been all kinds of home remedy type hangover cures around for as long as I can remember, none of which really worked and most of them in actual fact making you feel worse. Other than drinking lots of water throughout the course of the night, a plan that tends to fall apart pretty quickly once the drinks start flowing, we drinkers have had no option but to suffer the consequences of our actions. That is until now. There is a relatively new product on the market called "Chaser" that states rather boldly on the front of the box, "Freedom From Hangovers". It was more than I could stand not to try this product.
So, armed with a twelve pack of Killians Irish Red, a beer that I love, but one that always seems to give me a horrible hangover, and a 10 pack of "Chaser" tablets I set out to become a lab rat. The instructions on the back of the box are very clear. Take 2 of the large, bright orange tablets with your first drink and then 2 more every 5 or 6 drinks thereafter to a maximum of 8. My feeling was that if you had to take more than 8 of these babies you probably had bigger problems than a sore head to deal with.
I dutifully popped the first two tablets with my beer and set off at a nice steady pace. By the time I reached my fifth, I had a nice little buzz going and I popped in 2 more of the pills. I was able to down 4 more beers before I headed off to bed taking another 2 pills at that time. I must say that I was more than a little skeptical as the instructions also said to drink plenty of water which as I mentioned before is a hangover preventative that's been a round for quite some time. I decided to forego the water and test this product out fully.
Waking up bright and early the next morning, I gingerly lifted my head off the pillow and sat up fearing the worst but to my incredible surprise....nothing. I felt absolutely great. A little bit of dry mouth which I probably wouldn't have had if I had drank the water like I was supposed to. I really have to say that these pills actually work. I'm going to try it again in the near future just to make sure it wasn't a fluke one-off type of deal but I really doubt it was. I believe that "Chaser" works just as advertised
A couple of quick warnings to anyone about to dash off and try them. If you are taking some other medication then consult your doctor first and they do not prevent you from getting drunk, so, of course, don't drink and drive. Other than that, I really recommend giving "Chaser" a try. Hopefully you'll have the same happy outcome that I did.
