Chatroulette: The New Chatting Medium

The Polymath
At the beginning of 2010, a new type of chat quietly becomes popular around the world: simply enter "www.chatroulette. Com" and click "PLAY", you can video chat with users around the world. Chatting partner is randomly assigned by the computer. If not satisfied, just click "next", the next person will come in front of you. In fact, this chat game has swept the multinational youth, and the person who has created this trend is surprisingly the 17-year-old Russian boy Andrey Ternovskiy.

Just like many other discoveries and inventions, Chatroulette was created by Andrey merely from an afternoon whim. Chatroulette slogan is very simple: "Welcome to the world of Chatroulette!" Its pages are also extremely simple, the left two video frames, one is you, the other one is your chatting partner, and the right is the dialog box.

This simple site rises without any promotion. From last November on the line, just a few months, the current daily volume of more than 1.5 million visits, while the number of over 20,000 online. To Ternovskiy, the number of users has exceeded his expectations so far. The idea of Chatroulette actually came from a rainy afternoon whim: set up sites so that people and surfers with web-cams around the world can communicate easily together.

The site and now valued at approximately more than millions of dollars. According to reports, Ternovskiy in Moscow is a computers and aero-modeling students. He does not like school, keen on cutting class. Because of his cutting Class for too long, schools have been ordered that he intends to drop out. However, compared to the "Growing Pains," several companies from the United States and Russia, he invited even more headaches. On the site after fame, Skype, Google and other companies have successively extended an invitation to him. Known as Russia's "Internet czar", Milner also intended to keep him in the Russian development, and out 1000000-3000000 euros to buy their website 10% of the shares.

Currently Ternovskiy has not yet made a decision because he did not know what this site's true potential value, as well as Russia's network policies and prospects. Assessment of the organization, according to some calculations, shows the current site value of 13 million U.S. dollars 4,000 million.

There were a number of internal plagiarisms, however. The chatroulette's popularity, some analysts believe, is for three reasons: First, a simple enough operation: just click the mouse three times; second, random, strange chatting to break the traditional social practices, in line with the requirements of young people in the pursuit of novel experience; third, parties may at any time change chatting partner, so that all participants feel that they are in control.
