Chatting with "Real Housewives of New York" Star Jill Zarin About Her Weekend in Chicago

Jenna de Salea
In this article you will find that I am a horrible interviewer.

Today, I had the chance to talk to our beloved Jillsy of the Big Apple Housefraus, and I was all, "So like, what's up? Pretty cold here in Chicago, huh?"

I know. Thankfully Barbara Walters' job is safe. I know she was worried about this lil' Chicago blogger taking her place...it was keeping her up at night.

But thankfully, Jill saved the day and was easy to talk to, so it wasn't a huge disaster...

What brought Jill Zarin to Chicago, you ask? Charity. A whole lotta charity. She had two large events with her sister, radio personality Lisa Wexler, one being the Breast Cancer Benefit at the new Public House in the city with Giuliana Rancic, a fundraiser for the Arie Crown Day School, then a trip to Saks to talk about "Secrets of a Jewish Mother" in Highland Park with a percentage of the shopping going to benefit charity.

That's a pretty busy weekend. Kind of made me feel a bit lazy eating nachos and watching the Bears game on my couch yesterday instead of being at the Four Seasons and having a fabulous lunch over at Ralph Lauren. But hey, I'm a blogger and she's a "Real Housewife."

But it was a fun chat, and to Jill's credit, she totally has a way of talking to you like she's known you forever. Completely killing the running screaming commentary in my head of, "What do I say? Don't say anything dumb! Stop nodding so much, she can't see you!"

And Jill has come up with a fun little promotion to coincide with the premiere of RHONY's 4th season. If you head over to Borders or Barnes and Noble and pre-order 10 copies of the new paperback edition of "Secrets of A Jewish Mother," which will be released March 1st, then email Jill the receipt, she will give you a call on premiere night February 15th... And I know you're asking yourself, "Self, why would I want a paperback, when I've already bought the book?"

Well here's why...

There will be a new chapter on "bullying" in the paperback edition. And we know Jill's had a go of it in the public arena as far as bullying after last season's fiasco...so I for one would be interested in reading what someone who has been accused of bullying, and been on the receiving end herself.

So it was a fun little chat with Jill about Chicago... special shout out to O'Hare for only having 3 TSA agents on a Monday morning, that's not at all embarrassing to our city... and we'll see Jill and the 'goils' back in NYC on February 15th!
