Chaz Bono will be dancing the last dance of the evening. Word is that Chaz and his partner will be dancing the Cha Cha. It is interesting that the dancer that has had the most press will be the last one to perform. Is there a method to "Dancing With The Stars" madness or just the luck of the draw?
To be the first performer in a competition isn't the best strategic alignment. You have to realize that the judges can't give out high scores early on or they will have no where to go. Dancing last does allow the scoring to even out a little. However, the couple that performs last has had to wait and watch everyone else, which gives them too much time to re-think their routine over and over again.
According to pureDWTS, the two dances that will be performed will be the Cha Cha and the Viennese Waltz. Two totally opposite dances to be sure. The Waltz is a graceful and romantic number while the Cha Cha is sexy and will get the hips moving rapidly.
It should be interesting now that Derek is back; he's such a good dancer and a joy to watch. There are a few newbies, but we'll get to know them as the weeks go by.
According to what I read, Nancy Grace is fairly light on her feet. I'll have to see that to believe it. As always, there will be dramatics and you can bet that a lot of that will stem from Carson and Maks!
The songs the couples may be dancing to range from Tony Bennett, Beyonce and even KC and the Sunshine Band. Cher is on the list, but supposedly Chaz doesn't want to use Cher's music. Perhaps he if makes it a few weeks will he reconsider and perform to his mom's songs? If that is what the powers that be want, then he will have no choice. Cher in the audience would help the ratings too!
Get ready for the big premier this evening. Who do you think will shine brighter than the mirrored ball?

Post a CommentOh, and Nancy, too, she's not really a "star," she's a TV news personality.
Don't understand why Chaz is on. He's not a star! The whole point of this show has been devalued with some of the people they've had on, like Palin's daughter, ANY sports figure, and now Chaz.
I think it's a good cast this year.
I wonder what ABC's ratings for the show will be with all the controversy swirling about...
I missed the first episode. Will try to catch up next week though.
Chaz wasn't bad. Carson cracked me up with his antics. It'll be a fun season. Is it just me, or does the waltz seem like it is an easier dance than the others, but the judges always give it very high marks. Just sayin'.
I love dance, the cha cha cha sounds great:)
I'm trying to watch DWTS at least once a week. Thanks!
Chaz did surprisingly well! Cher in attendance would be too much distraction! I think Chaz could stay on the show for several weeks.
Sorry for the late comment... Thanks for the info. : )
