When traveling in Europe, one would want to make the most of their time by visiting the most locations they possibly can. For many people, traveling across seas is an indulgence and will not likely be repeated soon. It's important to see as much as possible to avoid regrets. To accomplish this, you need an efficient and cost effective way to get around. Contrary to many rumors, there are ways to save money when traveling to Europe and Scandinavia, and it is possible to get around quickly and inexpensively. This guide will help you begin to plan cheap travel in Europe and Scandinavia through the fastest mode of transportation: Airplane.

Ryanair.com is a very little known secret of how to travel on a budget within European countries. Ryanair.com offers flights landing in 26 countries. Some flights start at just 1 Euro. Of course the taxes and fees are much more than the fare price, but it's still very inexpensive. A flight from Paris to Stockholm right now comes out to about $36.00 USD on Ryanair. That is a very affordable way to travel almost 1,000 miles!

Ryanair is a cargo company that has routed flights all over Europe for cargo purposes. In 1985 they began offering passenger seats to the public for very discounted fares. You can check out their website to see all the destinations they offer. They feature an interactive map that is easy to navigate. If you can't find a direct flight to a certain destination, try adjoining destinations; at this price, it's probably worth it to make one or two stops to get where you want to go.

Be aware that there is a luggage limit when traveling on Ryanair. Each passenger is permitted to check in up to 3 bags with a maximum combined weight of 15kgs (about 33 lbs.). This will restrict some passengers to limiting their luggage. In Europe, it should be easy to find places to stay with laundry facilities in house or near by and then you can pack conservatively and plan to do laundry along the way.

The only down side to Ryan air is that for certain destinations, they only offer one or two departures each day, and sometimes only a few times a week, making it difficult to have flexible traveling plans. However, where some flights are only one hour, you can usually work your plans around the Ryanair itinerary.
