Cheap Christmas Gift Ideas for Your Boyfriend

Erin Morris
Stumped on what to get your boyfriend for Christmas? At first I was too. Now you've got the benefit of the doubt if you've been with him for a while, but if you're like me and are spending your first Christmas together, then shopping might be a bit more difficult than you first suspected. If you're on a budget this holiday season, but still want to get your BF the gifts that will have him loving you, then try these budget-friendly ideas.

1. Discount Clothes

Oftentimes when you hear discount, you think cheap. The last thing you want to do is get your boyfriend clothes that are just going to fall apart on him. Now my huge problem this holiday season is that my boyfriend is more into style than I am, well maybe not more into it, but the clothes he wears are much more expensive than mine. So what do I do? Then I thought, hey, if I discount shop for all of my clothes, then why can't I do it for him too? Insert fantastic discount stores here! The three staples of discount shopping, in my world anyway, are TJ Maxx, Marshalls and Kohl's. I visited all three stores and found great gifts at fantastic discounts. I ended up getting my boyfriend 2 half zip sweaters, a fleece and a t-shirt all for about $75. I couldn't believe the savings. Now he'll be dressed in styles like Calvin Klein, Guess Jeans and DKNY, but the prices are unmatched. You can visit all three stores online at their respective websites: TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Kohl's. The websites also have convenient store locaters so that you can find the location closest to you.

2. Movies

My boyfriend is a huge movie buff and after looking through his collection, I realized he was seriously lacking in the Christmas movie category. I took a trip to BJ's Wholesale Club with my mom to pick up a few things and I found the most amazing budget friendly gift idea ever. It's a three pack of Christmas movies: A Christmas Story, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and Elf. I couldn't believe my eyes...and the price...under $40. Three great movies that he will totally enjoy at a price anyone can afford! To find this great product and more, visit the BJ's website or find the store nearest you.

3. Stocking Stuffers

My boyfriend and I decided that, instead of buying extra gifts, we'd do stockings for each other. I think this is a great idea for any couple on a budget because it allows you to get a bunch of little items for you significant other and you won't have to spend a ton of money doing it. My stocking that I made for my boyfriend came to a total of about $30 and it is packed full with a bunch of different items. I stuffed his favorite candies in there, as well as a few gag gifts like a polar bear that poops out chocolate, and a lump of candy coal. I also went to Blockbuster and Target and found older movies for $4 and $5 to wrap up and put in there as well. I also bought him a few things he needed like new razor inserts and some socks. Then I capped it off with some lotto tickets and a Buffalo Sabres keychain (we're from Buffalo). So it's a bunch of little items, some he needs, some he wants and some he'll have fun with. And when all is said and done, it's a lot more fun to open up than just one gift on its own.

There are a lot of different gift ideas for boyfriends and girlfriends out there this year. I realized that at first, I was thinking too much into the whole gift thing. When I took a step back, it was a lot easier to find great gifts at affordable prices. I know that he'll really enjoy a lot of the gifts that he'll open this Christmas. I can't wait for him to see them!
