For a simple and cute gift, consider getting a sleek or attractive picture frame for a desk or dresser. Put a picture of the two of you that has sentimental value, such as a picture from when you had a date at the local amusement park or perhaps the two of you at the beach. A table-top frame like this usually ranges from about five to ten or fifteen dollars at the most. Not only is it cheap, but it's also sweet and has value beyond that of the price tag. Craft stores, framing stores, and even Wal-Mart and Target carry many different frames.
One simple idea is to find a t-shirt that has his favorite television character such as Stewie from Family Guy, Homer Simpson from the Simpson's, and so forth. These shirts not only are something that he can put to use, but reflects a part of his personality and won't come across as cheap when he opens it. Such shirts are usually about fifteen or twenty dollars and can be found at virtually any store that carries clothing.
Do you know his favorite sports team, video game, or hobby? There are two different gift ideas that may be worth a shot. The first one is to get a wall poster of his favorite team or video game. You could find these at any sports or game stores around the mall, or online on sites such as amazon.com or allposters.com. You can find some for as cheap as seven or eight dollars plus a small shipping and handling fee. Another idea involving his favorite sports team or interest could be a year subscription to a magazine. The average subscription that I've seen is usually about twenty dollars for twelve months. Plus, ordering is as easy as filling in and mailing in a subscription card (found within the magazine) or ordering from the website online. Magazines even have options for you to mail it directly to the recipient as a gift.
Does your boyfriend play a lot of video games or uses his computer frequently? You don't necessarily have to go out and buy a new game for fifty or sixty dollars, but instead perhaps replace some of his game accessories, such as a new play station controller, or a new mouse or keyboard for his computer. These usually cost about twenty dollars on average, and are still great Christmas gifts!
