Why not try the Dollar Tree store -- everything in the store is only a buck or less. Most cities have a dollar store. They may also be called a 99 cent store or dollar store.
I've gathered together some of my favorite Dollar Tree gift basket ideas that are sure to please even the most discriminating recipient.
Start off by buying a basket or other container at the store. Creativity is key when generating a one-of-a-kind basket. You don't actually have to use a basket-- you can use bowls, mugs or even cookie sheets. Typically, each store has a different variety of items to choose from. Some tissue paper or ribbon will help to bring the complete look together.
Gift basket idea for your child's teacher: Use a small to medium-sized container or planter. Purchase some glue sticks and a box or two of crayons. Apply glue to one side of each crayon. Stick the crayons on the container to form a solid pattern of crayons covering the entire container as much as possible. Fill the container with chocolates, hard candies, hand lotion, hand sanitizer, stickers or writing utensils. If you choose not to make a crayon holder, a large coffee mug also works well.
Gift basket idea for a new mom: The Dollar Tree store has an array of items for infants. Take a basket or child's container and fill with items like child-size plastic dinnerware, bibs, books, and diapers. A photo frame, album, baby shampoo, baby wash and baby powder are welcoming additions to the basket. The new mom will appreciate this gift.
Gift basket idea for the canine or feline on your list: Don't forget Spot and Garfield -- they look forward to the holidays too! Why not create a basket or container full of treats for them? Use a large plastic storage container and fill it with different goodies such as dog or cat treats, a leash, collar, dog or cat food, a feeding dish, and dog or cat toys. If you really want to be creative, purchase a maker set for only a dollar and decorate the outside of the plastic container, to create a personalized gift for your furry friend. What animal wouldn't enjoy getting their very own basket filled to the brim with their favorite things?
Gift Basket idea for your boss: It is always hard to buy for your Boss when you are not really sure what it is they are really after or asking for this holiday season. A sure bet is to keep it simple and win them over with chocolate. Even if they are on a health kick, they can stash the chocolate away for nibbles here and there. Plus, no one turns down chocolate. So, grab a basket or coffee mug, and fill with some of the nicest chocolates and candies you can find throughout the store. Adding hot chocolate and maybe some other gourmet snacks will help round out the basket.
Gift Basket idea for the discriminating cook on your list: Most Dollar Tree stores have an abundance of cooking supplies and utensils. Take a large mixing bowl that can be found at many dollar stores and fill with a few cooking utensils such a as a spatula, a silicone spoon, some dish towels, spices, oils, and even some baking mixes. The cook on your list will love this basket idea. This idea can be substituted also with using a cooking container or cookie sheet.
Gift Basket Idea for your daycare provider or housekeeper: If you have someone on your list who puts everyone before herself -- a pampering gift basket is the answer. Take a basket and fill with pampering items you can find at your local Dollar Tree store such as scented candles, bath salts, slippers, nail care set, lotions, and small hand massagers. Crown off the basket and add some chocolates. This will allow her to take time out of her busy schedule to pamper herself.
The possibilities for unique gift basket ideas are endless and the Dollar Tree store is the answer to all of your gift basket needs. After all, everything is only a dollar and you will be saving and smiling as you give these wonderful gifts to all the deserving people in your life.

Dollar stores are great. the only problem is that much of the stuff they sell comes from China. I alway worried about the toxic chemicals they may contain.
