Cheap and Easy Ideas for Celebrating Sweetest Day

Sulli
Sweetest Day is just around the corner. It is a day of celebrating the love you have for the special someone in your life. It's similar to Valentine's Day, except not as widely celebrated. Apparently the Great Lakes region of the country celebrates Sweetest Day more than any other part of the country. People do not usually go all out for Sweetest Day like they do for Valentine's Day. It's more of a simpler celebration. There are plenty of ways you can show your sweetie how much they mean to you without spending tons of money.

1. Make his or her favorite dessert

This could be anything from chocolate chip cookies, brownies, cheese cake, or banana split. You could even use your imagination and use the chocolate, whip cream, and cherries in other ways as well!

2. Make them a coupon book

You can do this by hand or on the computer. Make up little coupons that he/she can use at any time for such as free full body massage, free foot massage, candle light dinner for 2, breakfast in bed, wild card coupon, etc. Cut them out and staple them together. Make sure the coupons are something you are willing to fulfill or else it ruins the gift.

3. Clean the house

This not sounds like a treat for some, but for others, one of the greatest gifts could be coming home from work, after a long week, and having the house be spotless and smelling good. Light a few candles or spray some air freshener right before your sweetie walks in the door.

4. Watch the sun set

Weather permitting, this could be a romantic, quiet time for the both of you to spent together and enjoy each other's company, as you cuddle in the front seat, or even back seat. Find that special lookout spot in your town or city and enjoy nature's beauty.

5. Put a love note in his/her lunch

This is a sure fire way to get them in a good mood for the rest of the day. Even if you do it in Friday's lunch promising of what is to come on Saturday, it will still put a smile on your honey's face.

6. Massage

No need to go to an expensive salon when you can have this done at home. Get some lotion or body oils (the new warming kinds work great), light some candles, play your favorite mood enhancing music, and let your partner relax as you work out all the tensions in his/her body.

Remember, Sweetest Day is about showing that special someone that they are indeed special to you. It's not about emptying your bank account and acting like its Christmas in October.

Did we miss it? Cuz so far no one has put a love note in my lunch or cleaned the house and I would feel like an idiot doing it for someone else to celebrate a holiday that already passed. :)
