Cheap, Eco Friendly Ways to Clean the Sink

Sinks can get surprisingly filthy can't they? They get covered in dirt, toothpaste, limescale, handwash, all kinds of dirty things, and the cleaning products that are available are expensive and loaded with chemicals that are potentially harmful for the user and the environment.

Below are some suggestions that you can use to clean your sink with ease using natural materials that will do no harm to the environment or your money!

Put the plug in the sink and add about quarter of a tub of bicarbonate of soda, half fill the sink with hot or boiling water (boiling is best) then add about a quarter of a bottle of lemon juice then fill the sink completely with hot or boiling water.

Leave for an hour and a half to 2 hours, then pull the plug out (make sure you have adequate rubber gloves on, the water will be cold, but the mixture will dry your skin out)

Then wipe the sink with a sponge and some warm water and rinse!

Fill a spray bottle with white vinegar, sprinkle bicarbonate of soda all over the sink and then spray the bicarb with the vinegar. This will fizz, which is normal and this process loosens the dirt.

Wait until the fizzing has subsided slightly then leave for an hour or so, when the fizzing has stopped completely, wipe the sink with a sponge slowly pour half a kettle of boiling water into the sink to rinse it.

Please note that whilst these ingredients will do no harm to the environment, they will dry your skin out, so make sure you use adequate protection on your hands, normal rubber gloves are fine, but make sure they fit properly and are good quality.

I never knew anything about Punch and Judy except all the fighting, from the cartoons, basically.
