Cheap and Free Condoms: Where to Find Affordable Contraception

Agaric
Today more and more people are advocating abstinence as the norm for sexual relations before marriage. However, for people who live in the real world and choose to have sex with people for connective, recreational, or expressive purposes, the condom is a means to an end. Aside from abstinence, condoms are the best way to both protect against unwanted pregnancy or STDs. I think the politically correct term these days is STI's but I'm stubborn sometimes. But, as many people who have sex regularly have realized, condoms can get really expensive if you buy them from retail chains. There are methods out there for obtaining cheap or even free condoms, you just need to know how to exploit them.

When I'm talking about cheap condoms, I'm not talking about condoms that are poorly made for whatever reason. It wouldn't exactly be worth paying less for something that could fail in a process that has potentially life-altering consequences. I'm talking about condoms that are of the same trusted brands but at a much lower cost. I don't think I'm alone in thinking that the best kind of condom is a free condom, so I will tell you how you could possibly find these elusive latex wonders.

There are two primary locations to find free condoms: colleges and Planned Parenthood locations. Colleges are one of the best places to obtain free condoms. If you are currently enrolled in college, you have a vast advantage over a sexually active person who is not. Walk around your dorm. Many R.A.'s have envelopes or baskets full of condoms on their door or somewhere else on the hall. This is because most student advisors who are students want you to be safe having sex in an environment where a lot of sex can take place. Also, a college health center is bound to have a bin of free condoms lying around for visitors to dig into. Don't feel bad about filling your pockets. If the college is charging you giant sums of money to attend, then you're entitled to be a little greedy once in a while. If you currently aren't enrolled in college, then it's trickier to get condoms from one. You can still do it though. If you're in your 20s, it's doubtful that a college health worker is going to stop you and ask you what you're doing in a campus office.

If you don't think you can obtain condoms at a college, then there is another place you can go: Planned Parenthood. Not all Planned Parenthood locations offer free condoms, but at the very least they offer discounts and can provide cheap condoms. Planned Parenthood is all about educating people concerning safe sex practices, so they're not going to be miffed if you go there looking for low-priced or free contraception. You might not want to cram your pockets with condoms out of decency of teenagers who are looking for a way to have safe sex, but taking a handful is certainly within the realm of morality.

Those are two ways to obtain free condoms. But what if you're not comfortable going to either one of these locations. If you don't care if you need to pay for condoms, but still want to obtain them cheap, then there are a few outlets you can try. Buying condoms online is a cheap way to stock up on contraceptives and certainly beats the prices found at pharmacies or other retail stores. The good thing about online vendors is that you can buy bulk quantities of condoms rather than the six or twelve packs that are commonly available in stores. I will not list online vendors of cheap condoms here because I don't want to blatantly advertise, but if you type in a google search for "cheap condoms" or "buy condoms" you will get a nice list of vendors. If you buy in bulk, you can obtain trusted brands of condoms for as low as 15 cents per condom.

Condoms are very effective means of controlling pregnancy and keeping STDs at bay. Don't get swindled into the high prices of condoms at pharmacies. Try out some of my methods for obtaining cheap or free condoms and have yourself as much sex as you want.

How can I be sure condoms I bought online are not faked?

Of course if the GWB/Pat Robertson crowd has their way schools will not be allowed to give out the free condoms and Planned Parenthood will be a thing of the past. Tax dollars go towards "Absintine Only" education and funding cuts to educating about such things as using condoms. I'm actually not in the market for them, but did wonder how the safe-sex crowd could ever afford them. Very educational.
