AMC's Summer Movie Camp and Regal's Free Family Film Festival Provide Cheap Entertainment This Summer

Now is the time to start planning your for your children's summer entertainment needs and what could be more cost friendly than a free and cheap summer movies courtesy of two of the nation's largest movie theaters, AMC and Regal? Parents can take their kids to the movie theater this summer on the cheap, or even free, while enjoying family friendly movies. Below I will outline two free or cheap summer movie options, as well as the movies which will be shown.

Regal Theater's Free Family Film Festival - Free movies this summer, beginning in early June (dates vary)

Want a free summer movie experience? Then head to a participating Regal theater this summer to catch a movie with your kids. Regal's Free Family Film Festival is free, but concessions will be an added cost. The Free Family Film Festival is in it's 18th year and will be offering G and PG rated movies this summer to be shown on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:00 A.M. this summer. The start and end dates vary by theater, so be sure to take note and plan accordingly. In searching for participating Regal theaters in my home state, I saw start times as early as June 9 and as late as June 23. The movie line up also varied by location, though many overlapped the AMC Summer Movie Camp list below. However, Regal's Free Family Film Festival line up also is more extensive, which gives a good variety of movies to watch. Please sourced link below to locate a participating Regal theater near you.

AMC Entertainment's Summer Movie Camp - Cheap $1 movies this summer, beginning June 17

AMC's Summer Movie Camp is not free, but close with movie showings costing just $1 per guest. According to AMC's press release, this valuable service, now in its 24th year, will be available in 39 markets in the U.S. and Canada. The Summer Movie Camp program begins June 17 and runs through August 5, with movies being shown on Wednesdays at 10:00 A.M. The doors will open up at 9:30 A.M. Advance tickets will be available for purchase on June 10 if consumers want to claim their tickets in advance. AMC's Summer Movie Camp is not limited to just children; adults are welcome too. A cheap movie with mom, dad or grandparents is a fine way to spend a summer day. To find a participating theater near you, please see sources below.

Note: The proceeds from concession food sales will go to charities, which will also help teach children about helping others each time they load up on popcorn. Kids snack packs are available for $3 each, and only at that price for the Summer Movie Camp movie.
