Cheap Fun for the Whole Family in Wichita, Kansas and Cheney, Kansas

I am always trying to find fun activities for my whole family to participate in. I do not want to spend a lot of money, especially during times like these. One activity that my family and I love to participate in is bowling.

I have a three year old that has just discovered bowling this summer and she loves it!! She gets excited when she knocks down the pins with the ball and we practice counting by counting how many pins are knocked over each time.

This summer a local bowling alley (The Alley) in Wichita, KS near where we live had a free bowling game for kids every day or any day you wanted. Shoe rentals were only 99 cents. We went with our playgroup a couple of times so it was only the children bowling and it only cost us 99 cents. When we went to bowl as a family it cost us under $10 for three of us to bowl with only our daughter needing shoe rental.

The Alley also has arcades, pool tables and go cart racing. However the go carts have a minimum height requirement which my three year old did not meet so we were not able to ride the go carts. They do not have double cars that you can have a younger passenger in.

Most of the bowling allies in Wichita Kansas have shoe rental for $2.75 but you can call them for their specials and often they will have one night a week that is cheaper, usually around 99 cents a game and/or 99 cent shoe rentals.

Recently we found another bowling alley that is even closer to where we live. It's called Cheney Lanes in Cheney, Kansas. It's a small bowling alley and pizza restaurants. Shoe rentals are only 75 cents at this bowling alley! Their lanes are smooth and even, no unexpected curves or slants in the lane. Their facility was extremely clean and the staff was very friendly. Our daughter's ball stopped in the lane twice and they were quick to come get it without us even having to ask for help. Best of all their shoes were in excellent condition! The shoes actually looked practically brand new. The toddler shoes were Velcro not strings so my daughter was able to put her shoes on all by herself and start bowling even faster! You could still read the writing on the inside of the shoes with the brand name and size!!
