The crisp leaves are falling and the spicy, damp scent of the coming Halloween celebration is in the air, reminding you it is time to look for cheap Halloween costume ideas for your infant. Using household items free giveaways, and clothing, you can create unique and fun outfits that will delight family, grandparents and friends.

Halloween Face Paint

From the youngest age, babies look so cute when they are dressed as furry, fuzzy creatures, complete with adorable whiskers painted on their fat little cheeks. There is no need to buy commercially available face paint because you can make your own recipe, which is safer and biodegradable. Combine one teaspoon cornstarch, 1/2 teaspoon thick face cream, 1/2 teaspoon cold water, and a drop of food coloring for an economical alternative.

Animal and Insect Halloween Costumes

For many animal and insect costumes like: lambs, bees, skunks, bunnies, cats, and puppies, start with a basic hooded sweatsuit to which you can sew felt cut-outs for ears, two pairs of matching color clean socks for hands and feet, and a plastic headband for antennae or hair. Yellow and brown fabric paint on a beige sweatshirt will make a terrific tiger or black fabric circles and a permanent marker can easily and cost effectively be a cow.

Baby and Parent Halloween Costumes

Have you ever considered dressing up along with the kids? Perhaps your family could cut out, decorate and paint large, oblong cardboard pieces so you could all go as a deck of cards? Or you could choose a favorite fable like Little Red Riding Hood, with the infant as the wolf, the woodsman as dad, grandma as herself, and mom as the little girl. Finding props around the house, yard sales, thrift stores and flea markets is the best choice for inexpensive and productive prop hunting.

UFO Halloween Costume

Here is a fun UFO space baby costume that is easy to make and very original. Find a large cardboard piece, enough to accommodate the circumference of your infant's stroller. Cut out a round saucer with a hole in the middle and then cover with aluminum foil. An appliance store or home supply store will have refrigerator boxes for free. Secure the piece at the top of the stroller with the baby seated in the center, add pipe cleaner antennae, portable blinking Christmas lights, a decorated sweatshirt and face paint, and watch your baby be the hit of the party.

Twins and Triplets Halloween Costumes

Twin infants could go as angel and devil, or a fork and spoon, and even triplets and a sibling could trick or treat as their favorite childhood fairytale like Goldilocks and the Three Bears, as Tigger and Pooh, or as the dynamic duo, Batman and Robin. Doing this keeps the cost of making costumes down because you can use identical supplies and make subtle differences like a pink and blue bow to differentiate between the two.

Fall is coming, so what are you waiting for? It is time to look for cheap Halloween costume ideas for infants so you can save money, time, and energy when you make the perfect outfit for the holiday celebration.
