Many stores and websites that sell karaoke music, sell it in albums such as Jan. 08 Pop hits or 07 chart toppers. However, you may only want one song from that album. This is a dilemma most people encounter. Unfortunately, some people need a song right away and just pay the $15-$26 that it cost for an entire album, never using any of the other songs on it. Walmart being the cheapest at .88 cents per download, (.99cents if it's an MP3) does have a large selection of Karaoke but lacks the more recent titles. Itunes' downloads are .99 cents and has just a little more than Walmart. Amazon's price ranges from .89-.99 cents and by far has the best search options. On Walmart and Itunes, the search options are limited with 3 choices of choosing the song, album title or artist's name. Amazon has the same but also lets you sort the music by "relevance", "release date", "best selling", "price: low to high" or "price: high to low". It also shows you the titles that are about to be released in the near future.

When searching for karaoke songs on these sites, the best way to search would be to type in the title of the song or artist name and type "karaoke" or "instrumental" next to it. Also, when searching, make sure you listen to the sample so that you confirm that it is the version of the song that you are looking for. All three sites have the option to listen to a sample of the recording.

If you can't find the song you are looking for because it is a new release and you need it right away, you may then have to purchase an entire album. However, there is hope. The best website that I've found helpful is AceKaraoke.com. They usually have the newest titles as soon as they are released, a large selection and reasonable prices. If you can't wait for the album in the mail, take down the album name & number from AceKaraoke.com & call the nearest karaoke shop, department store (Walmart or Borders) or record shop to see if they have it available. If they don't have it, most stores are willing to order it for you and don't charge any shipping costs as you would with an online purchase.
